In the Montreal area, a family who owned a remote farm began to discover abandoned cats on their property. In response, they took these cats in and provided them with care and protection.
The cats were suffering from a lack of care, and a plea for help was sent out by Chatons Orphelins Montréal. Celine Crom shared with Embora Cats that some cats were sick and others were injured from fights.
Animal rescuer Julie sprang into action and noticed that one of the cats had a cloudy eye and was covered in mats, indicating further neglect.
With the help of humane traps, Julie was able to rescue all the cats and kittens and transferred them to Chatons Orphelins Montréal.
Several cats were found to be pregnant, including the one with a cloudy eye. Before placing them in foster care, all of the cats received medical attention.
Among them was a long-haired, cloudy-eyed cat named Remille, who weighed only 1.3 kg and was just skin and bones.
Remille, a cat with an ulcer on her cornea and a positive FIV diagnosis, underwent a significant transformation after removing mats and knots from her coat. She sought attention and love with enthusiasm, nearly doubling her weight after a few days.
Celine shared that her cat gained strength and had a voracious appetite. Her foster mom gave her lots of attention, and she began to enjoy life.
Eventually, the tabby girl gave birth to four kittens, but despite their best efforts, only the largest kitten, Hardy, survived.
This male infant, at the age of six weeks, demonstrates exceptional weight gain and physical strength. He continues to consume both breast milk and bottle feedings as is typical for his age.

Remille, who is 10 months old, is grateful for the assistance in raising her kitten. As a young cat herself, she is still learning but is committed to keeping Hardy clean and helping him learn to play.
Ever since transitioning to indoor life, this kitty has been a source of joy and affection.
She loves chasing feather toys and following her kitten around, and she has a sweet and snuggly side too – she’ll come up to her humans seeking close proximity and cooing and chirping when interacting with them.
Hardy, the lone kitten, is displaying signs of heightened activity and curiosity. He has recently learned the art of self-grooming and is currently learning how to play by mimicking his mom, Remille.
During the day, Remille mentors him while at night, she offers him solace by providing him with comfort-nursing.
After months of enduring the dangers of outdoor life, Remille has now found a safe and nurturing home where she is loved and spoiled as an indoor kitten.
