When the delivery driver returns, a cat is in the passenger seat after he briefly exits the vehicle

Many of us dread the thought of getting into our cars and discovering someone waiting there for us. It’s a fear that comes after, whether it comes from horror movies or cautionary tales we were told. For those of you who don’t drive or who have never even thought to check the passenger seats twice, just do it. You’ll avoid a great deal of hassle.

Yet, certain uninvited visitors are more pleasant than others, particularly if they have a tail, move quickly, and meow. A hungry kitten was sitting in the passenger seat when the delivery woman returned after briefly exiting her vehicle to deliver an order to a group of hungry customers.

Before we begin, I’d like to remind everyone to leave comments in the section below since I enjoy reading them. Furthermore, be sure to read to the end for the day’s buzzword. Now, let’s get moving!

Three minutes after leaving your automobile, you return to find a cat sitting inside it purring, “Howdy, neighbor!”

For one unwitting delivery driver, it was an ordinary night that was about to take an unexpected turn. Delivering meals to a ravenous bunch of individuals experiencing the midnight munchies, Lauren Kasdan was out late.

Around 11 o’clock she pulled over, put the food on a customer’s doorstep, and texted them to let them know it had arrived. Then she started to walk back to the car. She had no idea how the three minutes of solitude would alter everything.

When Lauren got to the car and opened the door, she saw a cat waiting for her to get back in the passenger seat. She admitted to The Dodo: “I briefly believed I was having a hallucination. Just one cat was present. I’m driving.”

Unaware Lauren was a delivery driver, so the cat crept inside her vehicle in search of warmth or a stray chicken leg.

It was difficult to read home numbers through the tinted windows of the work car, so it appears that she had left the window open. The cunning cat took advantage of the opportunity to settle in comfortably in the passenger seat.

Although cats are amazing animals, it is still unclear if this particular cat was acting out of kindness or with the objective of stealing a chicken thigh. You may read one of the cat burglary stories we’ve reported here. I’ll get to the story later.

The cat appeared fully at peace upon Lauren’s arrival, as though she had been anticipating her. She was sniffing about the seat and my central console like she belonged there, Lauren remembers the evening. Well, hi! was all she said when I returned. Is that your vehicle? It’s comfortable and toasty. The cat then made some biscuits while sitting in Lauren’s lap and began to purr nonstop.

The cat was cold and covered in scabs, so Lauren decided to take her in for the night with plans to take her to the veterinarian in the morning.

While the cuteness persisted, Lauren had the chance to get a closer look at the cat. The cat “had a ton of scabs,” she wrote in a Facebook post, in addition to being chilly and filthy. She was also scrawnier than she appears in the images, with particularly protruding hip bones and shoulder blades.

Lauren decided to give the cat a fighting shot at life regardless of its state and brought it to her mother’s house, but not before stopping by Walgreens to buy some cat food and litter.

After an adventurous night, Lauren took the cat to the vet when it was time to see the sun. Despite having been spayed, they discovered she was not microchipped. While she had all of her adult teeth, it was still challenging to determine her age. Lauren opted to publish images of the cat on several Louisville Lost/Found pets pages regardless of the cat’s past, but no one stepped forward to claim her.

Despite being spayed and having all of her adult teeth, they couldn’t find a microchip in her. They made an effort to contact any probable owners, but nobody responded.

As a result, Lauren and her mother decided to adopt the cat and give her the name Athena.

She made the decision to keep her for herself after returning from the vet and informing her mother of the circumstance. They’ve always liked dogs, but when they saw the kitty they just couldn’t resist her sweetness. She was given the name Athena and accepted as a member of their family.

To acquire “everything a cat could ever want,” Lauren was directed to Feeders Pet Supplies. Athena now gets high-quality food, a collar with her name on it, her very own bed and bowls, toys, and treats.

Athena was to receive her first flea cleaning later that evening, and even though she was initially meowing fairly loudly, the cat calmed down and began purring.

Before Lauren went to Feeders Pet Supply to purchase everything a cat could possibly need, the kitten required a flea wash.

She handled everything admirably, purring like the little angel she is during her wash.

After the cat’s bath, Lauren dried her off by wrapping her in a towel, and Athena dozed out in Lauren’s arms. Speaking of a cat from heaven… She’s a little angel, and she’s quite fortunate to have gotten into the automobile that belongs to the worst liar in the world, remarked Lauren.

Although it’s wonderful that they were able to connect, what should you do if you stumble across kittens on your own? Or what if one just so happens to enter your kitchen through an unlocked window?

What then should you do if you ever see a cat or kitten that appears to be homeless or abandoned?

Lauren did a commendable thing by taking the cat to the veterinarian to be inspected and treated, and it was a stroke of good fortune that they were able to find the cat a home. However, this isn’t always an option because of possible allergies, money constraints, or existing pets that might or might not get along with other animals.

Alley Cat Allies offers a clear and detailed flowchart with instructions on what to do. If the kittens are older than 8 weeks old (i.e., when they resemble adult cats), you should take them to the veterinarian, get them neutered or spayed, and find out whether they are friendly or feral. Future course of action will depend on that because sociable cats can work toward finding a future home and human family while feral cats fare much better outside.

The cat’s age and, if it is a kitten, whether or not its mother is there are the most crucial variables.

The next step is to take the cats to the veterinarian to get them vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and then, if they are nice, to find them a home if they are wild.

When it comes to kittens, the situation is almost usually much more complicated because it depends on their age and whether or not their mother is currently caring for them.

In that case, if the kittens are under 8 weeks old… It’s considerably more difficult. It may take hours of observation to ascertain whether the kittens have a mother nearby.

If they do, keep them with their mother until they are ready to be neutered or spayed, then release them back into the wild, unless the kittens have been fostered and have learned how to get along with people. Ask for assistance from a veterinarian, animal rescue group, or charity if you notice any obvious signs that medical attention is required or if the mother cat has not returned. Kittens don’t do well in shelters, so don’t put them there.

I’ll post a link here for anyone looking for more information about cats because the RSPCA has a very thorough list of things you should think about.

If unsure, consult a local veterinarian or look for an organization that rescues animals; do not, however, put the animals in shelters.

We send our best wishes to young Athena and her family. Those who are meant to be together will always find each other, as they say.

All we can do is welcome little Athena home and wish her and her new family nothing but the best. Lauren has been contacted by Bored Panda for an update on their jobs, and we’ll let you know when and if we hear back from them.
