Embora Cats reported that Lori White, an ARPO volunteer, was contacted about a feline family found inside a vacant home.

The family consisted of a mother cat and her four kittens. A Good Samaritan hired to clean the property discovered them in the basement, in a laundry basket with no food or water available.

Lori expressed concern about how long they had been there, as the house was locked with a lockbox.

Upon discovering a homeless cat and her litter, the finder took them home, provided them with food and shelter, and worked diligently to locate a rescue organization to take over their care.

The clean and healthy kittens indicated excellent care from their mom, and ARPO stepped up to their rescue after the finder reached out to the local shelter. Lori expressed gratitude to the finder for taking action and ensuring the kittens’ safety.

Upon arrival, the friendly tabby cat explored her new surroundings before calling her kittens for snack time. The room soon filled with a symphony of purrs and suckling sounds.

Lori was surprised to find out that all four kittens were female orange tabby cats. She named them Rose, Sophia, Dorothy, and Blanche after the Golden Girls.

Ginger females are rare, making up only about 20% of all cats. Lori couldn’t resist the Golden Girls theme, with Mama Goldie Girl and her Golden Girls.

Although Mama Goldie lacks a microchip and no one has come forward to claim her, the family of five is thriving and doesn’t have to worry about their next meal.

The quadruplets are a lively bunch, constantly looking for mischief, and Dorothy is the first to approach her humans and request snuggles.

With their playful and inquisitive nature, they constantly explore their surroundings and keep their mother on her toes with their mischievous behavior.

Despite their antics, Goldie is a wonderful mother who patiently caters to their every need.

At approximately five weeks of age, the kittens continue to nurse from their mother. Goldie, the mother cat, is diligent in keeping them clean, and well-fed, resulting in their healthy round bellies.

The sweet feline is content with her comfortable home and loving caretakers who assist in caring for her precious litter of four.
