On the streets of Montreal, a scruffy cat was spotted, appearing to have been living outdoors for a while and he looked as if he’d been fending for himself.

Marie-Eve, a resident of Montreal, discovered a stray cat in her neighborhood that was in a distressed state due to being covered in dirt and having matted fur. The sight of the cat’s sorrowful eyes caused Marie-Eve to feel immense sympathy for the feline.
Motivated to assist the stray, Marie-Eve set out on a mission to rescue the cat from the streets and provide it with the necessary care. In mid-July, she devised a plan to capture the cat and ensure its well-being.
However, the process of capturing the cat proved to be much more challenging than anticipated by Marie-Eve.

The feline had been living as a stray for a considerable amount of time, and its strong survival instincts posed a significant challenge for the individual attempting to rescue it. Despite the use of a trap, the cat displayed remarkable intelligence and managed to evade capture for almost three weeks.
Eventually, its hunger became too intense to resist the lure of food, and Marie-Eve was finally able to secure the cat safely in the trap. This incident provided a moment of relief for Marie-Eve.

All available shelters were occupied, therefore Marie-Eve took it upon herself to take the kitten to a veterinarian for treatment and grooming of its matted coat.

On that day, the feline was taken home by the individual who had rescued it and had the opportunity to obtain some much-needed rest in a cozy.
This was the first instance in a considerable period of time when the feline experienced a sense of safety and freedom from discomfort.

According to Celine Crom from Chatons Orphelins Montréal, the organization has agreed to provide temporary care and medical treatment for a kitten.
The kitten had suffered injuries consistent with those incurred during combat, such as an abscess on its cheek. Additionally, frostbite on its ears suggested that it had spent at least one winter outdoors. Its rescuer intervened just in time, as it is unlikely that the kitten would have survived another winter on its own.

They named him Marcel, a timid and anxious 4-year-old feline who kept his head down to avoid meeting anyone’s gaze while at the veterinary clinic.
Overwhelmed by the unfamiliar environment and routine, the poor creature showed visible signs of distress. The scars on his ears from frostbite and the gaps in his teeth spoke of a harsh life, one filled with adversity and hardship during his wandering days. It was easy to imagine how challenging it must have been for him to survive.

After being taken in by Lily, a volunteer from Chatons Orphelins Montréal, Marcel, a once-shy kitty, underwent a transformation in just 24 hours. He went from burying his face out of shyness to lying in his foster mom’s lap, purring contentedly.
Marcel, who had previously been anxious and jumpy, eventually fell asleep next to his foster mom, and after spending more time in his new environment, he learned that the noises that once frightened him posed no actual danger.

Marcel is a domestic shorthair cat who weighs precisely 14.2 pounds. While he has a robust physique, he has a playful and affectionate personality.
Over the next several weeks of being in his foster home, Marcel developed a strong attachment to his foster mom, running to her for attention and snuggles every night.

The bear got lots of love and attention every day, and now he’s happy. Marcel loves being the center of attention and always responds when talked to.

Due to his challenging past, Marcel is cautious about changes, but the love and care he’s received from his foster home has enabled him to thrive and become the person he is today.

Following his rescue, Marcel was adopted into a loving home just 60 days later, finding his perfect match.

It’s hard to believe that this is the same cat that a kind woman rescued from the streets. His once-sad eyes have now been replaced with joy and the promise of a love-filled life.
