In a risky move caught on camera by passersby, the elderly woman dangled her 7-year-old grandson, Hao Hao, on a rope from the 5th floor balcony.

The footage shows the boy bravely balancing on the narrow ledge, supported only by the rope held by his grandmother, as he retrieves the stranded feline and places it in a bag.

After this daring feat, both the boy and the cat are pulled back up to safety by the grandmother and assisted by the boy’s uncle.

This heartwarming yet perilous rescue is a testament to the extraordinary lengths people will go to save their beloved pets.

A grandmother, known only by her surname Tang, was heavily criticized after a video of her reckless behavior went viral on Chinese social media and subsequently became a global sensation.

The local residential committee spokesperson, Wang Ying, stated that Ms. Tang had been reprimanded and educated about her actions.

However, Ms. Tang maintained that the child, a first-grade pupil named Hao Hao, was unharmed.

It was later revealed that Hao Hao’s parents worked in another city, and he resided with his grandparents.

The good news was that the boy successfully transferred the cat into the bag and they were both lifted to safety.
