Kaitlyn, a compassionate animal ER nurse and neonatal fosterer in Jacksonville, Florida, was approached to provide a foster home for a single kitten.

A student discovered a kitten on the road and brought it to school, where it needed round-the-clock bottle-feeding due to its lack of a mother. The school is now seeking assistance to ensure the kitten thrives.
“Kaitlyn shared that the vice principal, who had fostered for the city shelter over the summer, was familiar with kittens of this age.”

The kitten appeared to be a stray, as she was only 16 days old and without a caregiver when she arrived.
Delilah, the kitten, was a natural at taking to the bottle and consuming the formula with ease. She adapted to indoor living with great joy and was pleased with the comfort provided by her warm beds and cozy blankets, as well as the companionship of her human family.

The new abode and its luxurious amenities bring her joy, but having a companion to snuggle with brings her the greatest happiness.
Before Delilah’s arrival, Kaitlyn took in a 6-day-old puppy, Silas, in critical care. With the help of an incubator, tube-feedings, and lots of TLC, Silas pulled through and started to thrive.

The baby made a remarkable transformation from being frail and underweight to a healthy, chonky baby who eagerly demanded his bottle during feeding time. His whimpers drew the attention of Delilah, who was determined to find the other baby in the house.
“Embora Cats reports that Kaitlyn introduced Silas and Delilah when Silas was 2.5 weeks old and Delilah was 3.5 weeks old, and they quickly became fast friends and cuddle buddies.”

Delilah and Silas formed a relationship as emotional support companions, relying on each other for comfort through cuddles.
Kaitlyn provides the duo with non-stop care. Their charming personalities leave a lasting impact on everyone they meet, always bringing smiles.

“These two are reaching significant milestones in their growth and development,” Kaitlyn observed. “Their heightened senses have allowed them to engage in play with each other, which is a delightful sight to see.”
Delilah, a 5-week-old kitten, has made a smooth transition to self-feeding and mastered the use of her litter boxes with ease. Silas, on the other hand, has become more confident and adventurous with the encouragement of a playmate.

“Silas and Delilah each have their own playpen mansions, designed to meet their unique needs. Despite these differences, they both love spending time together during supervised play sessions. As Kaitlyn explains, it’s crucial for single bottle babies to socialize with other animals at a young age in order to develop important life skills.”
“These two may be different species, but they are still learning a thing or two.”

Silas will have a dog friend to show him the ropes and teach him the ways of dogs. Meanwhile, Delilah will continue to interact with her furry friends, always staying playful.
Delilah arrived at her foster home as a single bottle-fed baby, but now she has a furry friend to cuddle with whenever she needs comfort.
