Get ready to “aww” at these four little kittens who were found outside at only one week old. They have come a long way since then and have formed a tight-knit group.

Two months ago, four grey kittens were brought to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA) without a mother.
One of the kittens, named Twiglet, was in rough shape, and needed intensive care. Penny Richards, an experienced carer at AWLA, stepped up to help, and took on the litter of four.
To keep the kittens warm and cozy, Penny placed them in an incubator, as they were too young to regulate their body temperature.
She gently cleaned the matted fur of Twiglet and fed her small, regular meals to slowly build up her strength and weight.

After arriving, Twiglet was showered with snuggles and purrs from her littermates – Cherry Bakewell, Jaffa Cake, and Jammie Dodger.
They provided her with a beating-heart snuggle toy to simulate the presence of their cat mom, which helped her to heal.
Within just 24 hours, Twiglet made progress and gained over 20 grams of weight, along with newfound strength. Additionally, her coat improved, allowing her to rest more comfortably.

In just one week, the cat improved its health by increasing its appetite, doubling in size, and gaining boundless energy.
Penny shared that the four roly-polies vocalized their hunger and satisfaction when they received their bottles.

The kittens moved to better homes when they grew big and healthy. Some learned to use the litter box fast, others slower.
They liked to nap together, but would all jump on Penny’s lap when she came.

Meet Jammie Dodger – the gentle giant with an independent streak. She’s like a big sister who saves the best cuddles for when she’s sleepy.
While she doesn’t like being fussed over, when she’s tired, she melts into your arms.

Jaffa Cake is a mischievous and clingy cat who enjoys playing and attacking moving objects. She also has a softer side – gazing at her people with her sad kitten eyes to get what she wants.
Her playful nature makes her the loudest and most entertaining member of the clowder.

Cherry Bakewell is a people-loving cat who enjoys climbing on shoulders to get up-close and personal, nose-to-nose with her human friends.
She is often found perched on her favorite human’s shoulder, and her affectionate nature makes her a great companion.

Twiglet is a sweet and quiet cat who loves to cuddle and purrs while receiving pets. She is always cautious about her siblings’ whereabouts, and as they roam the house, she carefully descends the stairs.
In case her siblings run ahead and she loses sight of them, she calls out with a little meow until someone rescues her.

Penny revealed to Embora Cats that there existed a strong bond between Jaffa Cake and Cherry Bakewell, as well as Jammie Dodger and Twiglet, right from the beginning.

Due to their close-knit nature, it is recommended to adopt these animals in pairs, as they spend all their time with each other.

Despite facing challenges early on, these kittens have persevered and are now in excellent health, seeking loving forever homes.
