A kitten who escaped life on the street is now waiting for a place of her own.
When a tiny kitten was found wandering the streets of Edinburg, Texas, alone and struggling to survive, she was brought to Murphy’s Safe Haven for a chance at a better life.
A compassionate individual came across a small stray kitten who displayed an eagerness for attention. Feeling the need to help, they took responsibility for the kitten’s care. As time went on, they discovered that the kitten had some health issues requiring specialized care.
Murphy’s Safe Haven stepped in to help and placed her in a loving foster home.
The kitten, who was rescued from the street, was given the name Toothless after the character from the popular animated film How to Train Your Dragon.
After a comprehensive veterinary examination, it was determined that Toothless was smaller than average and experiencing stunted growth.
Audrey, a representative of Murphy’s Safe Haven, corrected their initial assumption to Embora Cats, revealing that the kitten they found was already over 12 weeks old, not six weeks old, as they had originally thought. This was confirmed by the presence of her adult incisors.
Toothless has a craniofacial abnormality that results in a wider nose bridge than the average cat.
Upon arrival, she presented with an upper respiratory infection and stomach issues; however, with appropriate medical care, a nutritious diet, and ample TLC, her ocular health displayed improvement.
The kitten appears to have a carefree attitude, spending her days playing energetically and resting comfortably in a loving and nurturing home environment with attentive human companions.
Ever since Toothless was nursed back to health, her appetite has become voracious. She has also been exhibiting more playful, mischievous, and curious behavior.

The formerly scrawny kitten has transformed into a gorgeous, healthy panther cat in just a few weeks. With access to high-quality food, toys for playtime, comfortable beds for rest, and the constant companionship of loving owners, she is now the happiest cat in the world.

In an interview with Embora Cats, Audrey disclosed that although Toothless has not required special attention and has been given a clean bill of health by her vet, her future is unpredictable.
