While disposing of their garbage by tossing bags into the back of their truck, they were suddenly startled by the distinct sound of a meow.
They wanted it to be a broken toy, but when the crying started again, they realized there was an animal inside one of the bags.
We opened the bag and discovered a baby cat inside. Its heart was beating very fast. We believe it was in shock, so we reached in and took hold of it.
They were also extremely shocked by what they saw.
Why would someone engage in such an inhumane act? Putting a cat in a bag, tightly tying it up, and even using tape around the top raises serious concerns. With countless alternatives available, it’s difficult not to question the intentional nature of this action.
The two men decided to thoroughly search their truck to make sure there were no more cats inside. Fortunately, they didn’t find any.
Startled by the ordeal, the small ginger kitty received comfort as one individual held it close to their chest, easing its distress.
Opting for the name Hopper, akin to the nickname commonly attributed to the rear section of a garbage truck.
After going to the vet, they found out that Hopper is only 10 weeks old. He also has infections in his eye and upper respiratory system.
After receiving treatment, he was taken to Noah’s Ark Animal Rescue and placed with a caring foster family.
The two men who found him gave Hopper a fancy bed and some things to take with him as a goodbye gift.
They were both deeply moved by the ordeal.
Hopper is getting better every day while he stays in his foster home.
After a complete recovery, he will be available for adoption, and I’m confident that a bright future awaits him.
