A homeowner came across an orange tabby and his sister in their garage. Despite waiting, the mother cat didn’t return for her kittens and couldn’t be located.

In an effort to provide the necessary aid for the kittens, they contacted Sarah Kelly, the founder of Murphy’s Law Animal Rescue based in North Carolina. Sarah conveyed to Embora Cats that the kittens, Clove and Patrick, exhibited signs of prematurity, with Clove’s size being only half that of her brother, Patrick. Sarah acknowledged the uphill battle they were about to face.
Sarah promptly implemented a round-the-clock intensive care regimen, prioritizing their warmth, hydration, and tube-feeding assistance.

Although Clove couldn’t be saved despite their best efforts, Patrick pushed through and triumphed, conquering the challenge of eating like a champ.
Sarah made sure Patrick didn’t feel lonely, spending lots of time with him and showing him love. After a few days, Patrick opened his eyes and began moving around his nest, trying to explore.

Sarah, recognizing Patrick’s inquisitive and attention-seeking nature, embarked on a search for another kitten his age. This decision was rooted in the understanding that having a feline companion would greatly benefit Patrick’s overall development.
Sarah received a notification about a tiny kitten that had been abandoned and needed a lot of tender loving care (TLC).

Sarah told Love Meow about finding a severely underweight, dehydrated, and hypothermic four-week-old kitten left outside a local emergency vet in a paper bag.
Moxie, the tortoiseshell cat, was older by a week but weighed less than Patrick. She was a fluffy, skinny, and sassy little feline.

Moxie was rescued and promptly placed in an incubator at the rescue facility, where she spent the day recuperating and stabilizing her body temperature. The incubator’s nurturing environment revived her vitality, enabling her swift recovery and subsequent vocal demands for room service.
Watch Patrick and Moxie and hear their meows in this cute video:
Sarah shared with Embora Cats that she is a powerful person, rebellious, strong-willed, and brave. She has always been vocal and passionately expressed her needs and desires.
Moxie appeared shortly after Patrick’s sister passed away, bearing a striking resemblance. It felt like a precious gift in that moment.

Without hesitation, Moxie took Patrick under her wing once they were both medically cleared to meet. They began following each other around the playpen, instantly forming a bond as if they had been siblings all along.

Sarah shared with Embora Cats that as soon as she met Patrick, there was an immediate bond. They supported and inspired each other, bringing happiness and growth, like completing a missing piece of Patrick’s heart.
“Moxie lifted our spirits and Patrick’s, too! He’s been smitten since he met her.”

The two closest friends have explored every part of their kitty room and made friends with other foster kittens in the house.
Moxie is independent and spicy, while Patrick is snuggly and playful. Together, they have a great time and are absolutely adorable.

Patrick deeply loves Moxie and faithfully trails behind her every step. It is our firm conviction that their souls are intertwined, meant to share a lifetime together.
