The unveiling of Anthony Rubio’s Spring/Summer 2023 designs at New York Fashion Week was a momentous occasion.
A total of 40 unique pieces were showcased, with 20 dedicated to humans and the other 20 exclusively for their canine companions.
The runway presentation was a true spectacle, with a diverse range of styles that defied any particular theme or motif.
Instead, the collection sought to encapsulate the complexity and diversity of our modern lives, under the banner of “Everyday People…and Their Pets.”

Introducing Darla, our newest canine model, a beautiful Pomeranian rescue with an irresistible smile. Surprisingly, her debut was not planned.
Her mommy brought her along to keep her sister Lala company, who had been modeling for us for many seasons.
However, Darla quickly caught our attention with her eagerness to be part of the action and her natural charm.
During the show, Linda, Darla’s mommy, noticed a stunning pink gown with 3D flowers and couldn’t resist inquiring about purchasing it for her beloved pup.
We decided to try it on Darla and were blown away by how well she carried herself in the dress. Linda was so impressed with her furry friend that she asked if we would allow Darla to walk the runway.
Although Darla was new to the modeling world, she quickly showed her talent when paired with one of our models wearing an elegant off-white sequined ball gown.
The duo commanded the stage and left everyone in awe.

Launching my runway show for Anthony Rubio Designs at New York Fashion Week S/S 2023, I unveiled a stunning collection of matching ensembles.
One particular garment that stole the spotlight was a dress that resulted from a textile fusion experiment.
It was a delightful experience to see the transparency of compressed sequins in Indigo blue fuse with the panel made of upcycled glass beads in a striking shade of red.
Notably, the hand-sewn beading process added an extra layer of intricacy to the dress. Interestingly, the dress also boasts of being entirely water-resistant.
Meanwhile, on the men’s side, Kimba looked sharp in a sculpted tuxedo made of midnight blue Organza. The tuxedo was accentuated with copper and blue accents, making it a true masterpiece.

In the past few months, my inspiration has been drawn from the intricacies of everyday life and the varying moods it brings forth. With each passing day, we adapt to new changes and face different challenges, yet we always remember to cherish our bond with our furry companions.
From casual daywear to comfortable loungewear, stylish streetwear, and formal attire, our four-legged friends were represented in every outfit.
All these ensembles were meticulously crafted using recycled materials, highlighting the fact that what was once deemed waste can now be repurposed and fashioned into something new and exciting.
For our beloved pets, I created an array of visually stunning and vibrant colors, shimmering and unique, each piece a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. These exclusive designs symbolize how our pets brighten our days, even in the most trying of circumstances.
As I always emphasize, our pets are not mere accessories but models that we celebrate and adore. They relish the opportunity to wear these exceptional creations and showcase the message that people should adopt rather than shop.
Moreover, the proceeds from the sales of our exquisite canine couture go towards supporting various rescue organizations. So, not only do our pets look fabulous, but we also contribute towards a noble cause that we wholeheartedly support.
