Kitten With Impressive Resilience Found A New Life With Help From A Kind Couple

Nugget, a 3-week-old kitten, was discovered alone and malnourished in some bushes. He was brought to a vet clinic, where he was diagnosed with cat flu and given medical attention. Despite his condition, Nugget showed remarkable resilience and fought to recover.

Upon reaching out to a local social media group, a vet nurse at the clinic pleaded for help. Cass, a volunteer of Foster Kittens Of Melbourne, responded immediately, offering to take in the kitten who deserves a fighting chance, as shared with Embora Cats.

Upon arrival at our facility, a kitten was safely taken into our care after enduring a 2 1/2-hour transportation. The transporter had placed the kitten in a hand-made hat, and upon further examination, we found the kitten’s eyes crusted shut and swollen red. However, despite his medical condition, the kitten exhibited a positive and content demeanor.

Cass and her partner established a cozy and warm nest in a playpen for Nugget, a kitten in need. With dedicated syringe-feeding, Nugget was able to take his medication and have his eyes cleaned, demonstrating his appreciation for their assistance.

They watched him roll around in bliss until he fell asleep with a full belly, knowing that he was safe and loved.

Even though his eyes hurt and he had experienced cruelty before coming to the vet clinic, he was still happy and carefree.

A few days after arrival, the couple noticed something different about this pint-sized wonder.

Cass reported to Embora Cats that the cat did not respond to any auditory stimulus, had severely deformed joints, extremely low energy levels, and stunted and abnormal growth.

A diagnosis has revealed that the kitten is afflicted with both elbow and hip dysplasia in all four of his legs, along with mild Swimmers Syndrome in his hind limbs. The kitten is deaf, however, he is able to communicate exceptionally well in his own way.

The couple’s unwavering love and support are helping Nugget receive top-notch care, allowing him to thrive and appreciate life’s simple pleasures.

This deaf cat loves to play, explore, cuddle, and socialize with other cats, as Cass told Embora Cats. He’s even developed his own way of communicating with humans.

For several weeks, we have been amazed by the unwavering determination of this kitten, who approaches every new challenge with confidence and refuses to be treated differently than his foster siblings.

Nugget is a social cat who enjoys the company of other feline friends. He always keeps up with his crew, and when he’s with his human dad, he loves to climb up his shoulder and snuggle in the crook of his neck.

The little nugget of joy is full of adorable quirks and has so much to give. Ever since he arrived under our care, he has enjoyed playing tag with his foster siblings, cuddling in bed with his family, and chewing on his feet as a self-soothing activity.

Nugget, at 10 weeks old, maybe small for his age, but his charm and personality make up for it.

The couple has been won over by the charming kitten, who has now become a cherished member of their family.
