In Istanbul, Turkey, a stray cat in the late stages of pregnancy was spotted scavenging for food and shelter.
Following the birth of a child in an apartment building, the family was unable to stay and faced the risk of being taken to a shelter or left on the street.
A concerned resident contacted animal rescuer Ahsen for assistance, and Ahsen agreed to foster them immediately, even before seeing a picture.
After wandering the streets for three years, a tabby cat and her kittens finally found refuge in Ahsen’s garage.
Ahsen, who had several cats in her house, set up a comfortable nest for the little family. The cat’s big emerald green eyes inspired the name Zümrüt, which means emerald in English.
The mother cat lay comfortably in her bed, purring and stretching her paws in the air. Sadly, one of her kittens lost its fight, but the other two began to thrive thanks to their mother’s unwavering care.
Every time Ahsen came to check on them, the mother cat, named Zümrüt, would gently put her paw on Ahsen’s hand for some tender loving care.
Through a combined effort, the mother cat tended to the cleanliness and well-being of her kittens, while Ahsen ensured their dietary needs were met with regular feedings throughout the day.
As a result, the kittens experienced rapid growth and were successfully adopted into permanent homes.
Ahsen faced difficulty in finding a suitable adopter for Zümrüt, who had a hard time adjusting to indoor life and exhibited a preference only for Ahsen.
Despite spending considerable time with the cat to help her adjust, Ahsen intended to foster the cat until a suitable home was found. However, Zümrüt had other plans.
One day, the sweet feline made up her mind to step paws inside the house and decided she would stay forever.

Embora Cats interviewed Ahsen, who shared how a once-stray cat overcame a difficult life on the streets and now rules Ahsen’s home, all thanks to patience and a strong bond between them.
After quickly becoming friends, the tabby and tuxedo cat Zikri began creating all sorts of antics together around the house.
As a result, Zümrüt not only blossomed with confidence but also became the sassy boss of the family.
According to Ahsen’s account to Embora Cats, her happiness has soared since she adopted a pet who now shares a bed with her every night and joins her for walks in the garden.
The once-stray cat has transformed into a stunning tabby with a fierce cattitude. Her companion, the tuxedo cat, always keeps a watchful eye on her escapades.
The tuxedo cat is always following his feline friend around the house, like he’s her little admirer.
Despite her occasionally difficult behavior with others, this tabby cat’s loyalty and affection towards her human mom are unparalleled. “I earned her trust, and I truly believe she chose me.”
