Mayar, a compassionate woman living in Kuwait, discovered a malnourished stray cat with disabilities while she was out and about one day.
She saw him standing on two legs and thought he had probably been left alone by his owners because he was disabled.
It looked like he wanted help, but every time she tried to get close, he would run away and hide under a car.
On closer scrutiny, she could discern that he was engulfed in painful sores and bore various wounds on his body.
She knew she had to assist the sad cat.
Finally, she caught him, put him in a special box for cats, and went to the doctor who takes care of animals. He looked very sad, as if he didn’t trust people anymore.
Mayar was told he was malnourished, had wounds on his body, and suffered from severe ear and skin infections.
His front legs are twisted because he was born with a birth defect called radial dysplasia. Cats with this condition have a short or missing radial bone.
Radial bone (radius), one of two forearm bones. Short/missing radial bone causes inward hand/wrist rotation towards the thumb side.
Cats born with this condition typically sit on their rear, with their arms up against their chest, giving them a resemblance to a squirrel or kangaroo. Despite being unable to be fixed, most of these cats lead normal lives.
Mayar is the founder of Naida Shelter Kuwait, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing aid and support to animals in Kuwait who require assistance.
She asked for help with the medical expenses on the shelter’s Instagram page, and it helped him get better.
Mayar started earning his trust by being caring and attentive – she decided to call him Hope.
Hope soon started interacting with the other people in Mayar’s house and found out that he really enjoys playing. So, they gave him a lot of toys to keep him busy.
This pretty and playful cat went through a big change, and you could tell from his face that he was no longer scared or sad.
Hope, who had led a wretched life as a homeless cat, experienced a remarkable change for the better after encountering Mayar. He was no longer the disabled stray cat standing alone on the street.
In the present, he is a gleeful and lively boy who has ultimately found his forever home.

Hope has improved greatly since being adopted and he really loves his new family.
