A skinny and scruffy stray cat with matted fur suddenly appeared on a windowsill, meowing plaintively, and seemingly expressing a desire to leave behind its solitary and harsh existence on the streets.
A friendly orange feline found a companion in a young girl when he arrived outside her residence in Brooklyn, New York. The girl started feeding the amiable stray, and he kept returning for more.
Upon his recent arrival, the cat jumped onto the windowsill, meowing in pain due to an injury. The girl and her family rescued him and brought him to Little Wanderers NYC for medical attention.
Little Wanderers NYC expressed that they do not disregard friendly cats on the streets. Carlton, the orange cat, was unwell and had a significant laceration behind his ear that required stitches.
Carlton is a five-year-old cat who has endured life on the streets, but despite his hardships, he remains sweet and mellow like a teddy bear.
Unfortunately, Carlton has tested positive for FIV, but that hasn’t stopped him from living a full life. Carianne, an experienced fosterer from Staten Island, New York, saw Carlton’s story through social media and offered to help.
Currently, rescues are overflowing with cats and kittens due to kitten season, which runs from early spring to late fall, and the overblown cat population from last year.
Upon arrival at his foster home, Carlton felt apprehensive about his new surroundings. However, he quickly found solace in the kindness of his human friends.
Although he may come across as rough around the edges, Carlton is a gentle soul with a big heart. He is grateful to be provided with a safe haven where he never has to worry about food or shelter.
Carianne from Embora Cats shared that the cat had matted hair and needed cleaning around the sutures of his ear wound.
Though missing teeth, he loved any food given and was easy to gain trust due to his friendly nature.
The tabby would melt into the arms of his humans when cuddled and enjoyed their company immensely.
The ginger tabby has transformed into a professional snuggler. He roams the house in search of affection and embraces from his foster caregivers, almost as though he’s trying to compensate for the days he spent wandering the streets.
As soon as I gave him a quick grooming session, he started purring contentedly. Nowadays, he has a fondness for draping his entire body over my lap, and I find myself unable to move. This scenario has become quite repetitive, occurring on numerous occasions.
After making a full recovery with the help of Little Wanderers NYC, this friendly tabby is now up for adoption.
He’s like a big friendly mountain lion and enjoys headbutting if he’s not getting enough attention, while also flopping on his back for belly rubs. Carianne shared with Embora Cats that whoever adopts him will be very lucky to have such a perfect cat.
It’s safe to say that he’s the most affable and easy-going cat we’ve ever come across. He’s a delightful golden-orange boy and a true treasure.
