It is rare for us to pause for a moment and appreciate the beauty of the world around us. We often assume that we already know what our neighborhood, house, dog, or cat looks like, and therefore, we do not take the time to stop and appreciate it.
Perhaps this is why animals with distinctive features, whether they are caused by genetics or unfortunate circumstances, capture our attention so much.
This earless cat is certainly one such creature that attracts attention due to its unique appearance. The cat lost its ears due to medical reasons, but fortunately, it had caring humans who were kind enough to provide it with a new set of ears as a replacement.
Because to serious chronic infections and hematomas, Lady, this lovely fluff, had to have her ear flaps removed.
Lady, a stray cat, had been on a challenging medical journey since arriving at the Dane County Humane Society. Due to chronic infections and hematomas, she had to undergo surgery to have her ear flaps removed.
Surprisingly, the surgery may have improved her hearing as the infections had previously blocked the entrances to her ear canals.
Additionally, Lady’s recovery was aided by a caring staff member named Ash Collins, who crocheted her a replacement pair of ear flaps. The shelter posted a picture of Lady on Facebook, and she was adopted the following day.
Fortunately, a member of the staff at the Dane County Humane Society where she is being cared for, was able to crochet a pair of mittens for her.
Even though Lady had her earflaps removed, she is a contented feline who doesn’t hold back in expressing her affection through head bumps to everyone she meets.
According to DCHS, it is uncertain how she interacts with other animals since she was a stray, but that did not hinder her from discovering her forever home quickly!
