During his dog-walking routine, a man came across a tiny stray kitten and witnessed its fearless determination to follow him and his dog back home.
While Jon Nienaber was strolling through the neighborhood with his dog last summer, a stray kitten suddenly approached them and decided to join their walk.
Leslie Nienaber, who resides in Cleveland, OH, revealed that her husband found an irresistibly cute kitten while walking their basset hound. The discovery happened in an area known for its significant feral cat population.
With a swift motion, she grabbed a handful of cat food and eagerly made her way to meet the adorable kitten named Pinot. The little furball was so incredibly tiny that he could easily fit into the palm of her hand.
“After poking his head through a small chain link fence, he began to follow Jon and me as we walked away, displaying a strong determination to stay by our side.”
When the kitten faithfully trailed behind them until they reached the end of the street, Leslie turned to her husband, emphasizing that they must bring him home.

The brave little ginger boy eagerly played with his canine friend and sought love and attention from people. Leslie, who took him home, noticed that he was quite dirty and hungry, and did her best to clean him up.
The couple already had three cats and a dog, resulting in a full house. Recognizing her sister Sarah’s affinity for cats, Leslie invited her to take in the kitten. The very next day, Sarah arrived and welcomed the kitten with open arms.
“It was a difficult decision to part with Pinot. He was a courageous and charming little soul who was determined to survive. Seeing my sister take him in brought me immense joy, as it meant I could witness his growth and visit him whenever I wanted.”
Sarah instantly fell in love with Pinot when she saw him. After going to the vet a few times, the little kitten got better and stronger.
Leslie revealed to Embora Cats that her sister Sarah was undoubtedly an angel. Leslie firmly believed that his survival was solely due to their decision to bring Sarah home.
Sarah always finds Q-tips all over her bathroom because he’s obsessed with them. They also love watching birds from their apartment window.
Pinot is quite a character.
