Sweet Tortie Cat Trusts “Cat Rescue Guy” in Daring Treetop Rescue

After a difficult treetop rescue, Cat Rescue Guy was won over by Jessabelle, a sweet tortie.

In the event that your cat gets stuck in a tree and can’t get down, you may be wondering what to do next. While firefighters or local utilities are sometimes able to assist, they may suggest waiting for the cat to come down on its own.

It can be perilous to attempt a rescue of a cat stuck in a tree as they may climb even higher or jump out of fear. To ensure the safety of your feline friend, it’s wise to call a professional tree-climbing expert who can handle such situations with care.

Randall Kolb, also known as the “Cat Rescue Guy,” is a kind-hearted hero from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He selflessly saves cats from trees without expecting payment, but instead suggests donating to an animal welfare organization. He’s not only passionate about cats, but also cares for trees and ensures they are unharmed during his rescues.

As evidenced by other cat rescuers, he too has opted for an adventurous retirement.

“I provide free cat rescue services because I love cats, am against their suffering, and don’t want financial limitations to prevent them from receiving care. As a retiree, I have the time to do so without disrupting my paying job.” Kolb says.

Previously, we featured the story of Normer Adams, a retiree from Georgia, who spent his retirement years rescuing cats by climbing trees – free of charge.

After dedicating over a year to learning safe tree climbing techniques, the Cat Rescue Guy became the sole cat rescuer in his area, where the demand for his services remains high. As a TNR practitioner for feral cats, he works closely with local Animal Control to ensure that all cats receive the care they need.

He tries to rescue kitties with as little stress as possible, according to his website. But sometimes, cats don’t make it easy.

“To ensure that the cat is comfortable and cooperative during our interactions, I prioritize gaining its cooperation.” Kolb writes.

Jessabelle, a tortoiseshell kitty, was saved by Kolb from a tree, making her the perfect cat to rescue.

Although it’s common for house cats to become fearful in dangerous situations, Jessabelle the Tortie cat remained calm and trusting when rescued by Kolb from high up in a tree.

“Although I love every cat I rescue, even the difficult ones, some cats touch my heart more than others. Jessabelle, a sweet six-month-old tortie, was stuck in a tree for two nights in Addis, Louisiana. Her trust, calmness, gentleness, and childlike innocence touched me in a special way. She waited patiently while I climbed up to rescue her, and I developed a love for her immediately.”

After a nerve-racking climb near power lines, the Cat Rescue Guy finally reached the tree where Jessabelle was stuck. With steady hands, he lifted the cat from her perilous perch, and Jessabelle remained calm throughout the entire rescue operation.

“I lifted her off her perch with both hands, held her high in the air, and she relaxed in my grasp.” Kolb said.

The calm kitty was nice to the person who saved her while they were in the sky.

“After placing her on my lap, I petted her, and then wrapped her in the bag. Holding her in my arms for a minute, I reassured her that she was safe before we headed down.”

After successfully saving Jessabelle from a dangerous situation, he reflected on his memories.

“The climb up to the 30-foot high structure was challenging due to the nearby power lines. Nonetheless, the writer nostalgically recalls the warm welcome and complete trust of the sweet little girl.”

The Cat Rescue Guy received lots of praise on social media for his heroic rescue, but his primary objective is to save cats and their families from suffering.

“According to him, rescuing a cat often means rescuing a person as well. In some cases, he has saved entire families, including children. The people who care for the cat often suffer more than the cat itself, and reuniting them brings him immense satisfaction.”

Your rescue efforts are essential in filling the void of animal rescue services in your community. However, it’s important to recognize that this task can quickly become overwhelming and dangerous without the help of others. Thank you for saving cats in your area.

Need to rescue a cat from a tree? Use the Directory of Cat Rescuers recommended by Randall Kolb, which has listings from around the world. Kolb used it to save a cat in his neighborhood.

“The writer suggests that finding someone to rescue your cat is a good possibility by searching for local rescuers or calling nearby ones. If that fails, contacting tree service companies in your area could still be beneficial, as some may provide referrals to someone who can assist.”
