A lady arrived at the shelter and was met by a feline with a flawlessly asymmetrical countenance, gazing intently in her direction. She just knew!
Lauren Thomson arrived at a shelter in Richmond, Virginia several years ago in search of a feline companion. Despite several meet-and-greets with various cats, she failed to find the connection she was seeking.
As she recounted to Embora Cats, “The last time I adopted a cat, she chose me by playfully swatting at my shoulder while I was looking at another cat. I was hoping for a similar serendipitous encounter.”
After meeting a few felines, Lauren’s gaze was captured by a pair of eyes fixed upon her. She turned to behold a tabby cat with a squinty face and tongue protruding, and at that moment, she knew the cat was meant to be hers.
“The feline named Piddlesticks, with a distinctive tabby coat, was brought to the shelter in a woeful state, with a fractured jaw and expectant with kittens, her appearance somewhat unkempt. Following an extensive period of care in a nurturing environment and a successful surgical operation on her delicate jaw, she regained her contented spirit, displaying an adorable, asymmetrical countenance.
Although all her offspring were swiftly placed in loving homes, Piddlesticks remained in the shelter for a protracted nine-month duration, yearning for her heart’s desire to be fulfilled.”
“When she encountered Lauren on that momentous day, her gaze was transfixed on her, yearning for Lauren’s attention, which she eventually received. That day heralded a fresh start for the charming tabby lady.
“After arriving home on her inaugural day, it was apparent that she was disoriented, yet we forged a rapid connection, and she has been an unwavering companion by my side ever since,” Lauren confided to Embora Cats.”
When the feline companion reaches the ripe age of nine, she still maintains the playful demeanor of a kitten. While she doesn’t consistently seek cuddles, when she does, it makes the moment all the more cherished. Delightedly, the tabby has a penchant for indulging in belly rubs and chin scratches.
Additionally, she enjoys spending time with her forever human, admiring the world outside from the window, and lounging on the screened porch, where she can soak up the sun and observe the tiny critters that scamper about.

“Lauren confided in Embora Cats that ever since she adopted her feline companion, the latter had to undergo the extraction of the majority of her dentition. Despite this, the contented and amiable nature of the cat is evident, as she leads a normal and fulfilling existence under Lauren’s care.”
She possesses a sweet disposition, and her charming wink complements her perfectly, making her a constant source of delight to those in her presence. With complete contentment, she will extend her arms and expose her belly for rubs.
Piddles, as she is affectionately known, is a master at creating the most delectable biscuits when she places her paws upon a soft blanket.
“Lauren mentioned that the feline had a rather challenging beginning. However, presently, the felicitous feline relishes a life of leisure, indulging in her whims and desires, and basking in the warmth of affectionate cuddles while spending most of her day in restful slumber,” declared Lauren.
The tabby kitty persistently takes charge of overseeing and “assisting” her human companion whenever she is engrossed in computer work.
“She is the sweetest girl in the world, and I can’t imagine my life without her.”
