When a woman visited her local shelter, she asked about the cats that had been there the longest. Her heart was won over by a senior, deaf, and toothless lovebug, and she decided to adopt the feline companion.

After receiving treatment for a month, Bridgid Staub of San Antonio, Texas, returned home earlier this year. She sensed that something was missing as she started a new chapter in her life. “I felt lacking. After giving it some thought, I made the decision to visit the animal shelter in my city to see if I could connect with any of the cats “Embora Cats was told by Bridgid.
She approached the workers when she arrived at the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services and asked about the cat that had been there the longest. “The lady pointed out Cali to me right away.”
As a stray, Cali was brought to the shelter. Her few remaining teeth gave away her age as a senior, and she was discovered to be fully deaf.

“She had stunning calico fur and enormous, emerald eyes. She immediately let forth a very loud and distinctive meow upon being released from her cage. I smiled for the first time in a while because of this” Bridgid told Embora Cats.
When Bridgid turned on the tap, the cat immediately walked to the sink and began to meow. “She took a sip of water and then turned her attention to me. She headbutted my hand until I petted her, at which point she curled up on the ground and relaxed.”

At that precise time, Bridgid knew she had discovered the appropriate cat at that precise time. Cali, who had led a wandering life, clung to her human and began to purr.
A few days later, Cali permanently departed the refuge. “The first night, she barely slept at all. She was so fearful of her unfamiliar surroundings and too attentive “explained Bridgid. “It appeared as though a light had been turned on the following morning. She fell asleep on my lap as I was sitting on the couch.”

The adorable cat realized she was at last in her own house. Since then, she has been the biggest cuddle bug and has consistently slept through the night (next to me and occasionally sharing my pillow), Bridgid told Embora Cats.
This deaf, older cat has so much to give.

Bridgid told Embora Cats, “I am very grateful that I decided to adopt. She brings such joy into my life.”
“While so cliché, I find this to be very true. Adopting her may have saved her life, but she has also significantly saved mine!”
