Woman Rescues Kitten from Driveway and Her Life is Forever Changed

After enjoying dinner last summer, Bree, a resident of California, spotted a motionless kitten sitting in her driveway.

When she got closer, the kitten started crying and breathing heavily.

In a conversation with Embora Cats, Bree recounted the heartbreaking sight of a weary and famished cat desperately attempting to reach her, its feeble steps thwarted by the sweltering 110°F temperature.

Despite diligent efforts, the mother cat remained untraceable. Recognizing the dire situation, Bree took the initiative to bring the three-week-old kitten indoors, ensuring her access to sustenance and hydration. Her stray mother had deserted this tiny feline.

The next morning, she brought her kitten, Cloe, to the vet for the medical care she needed.

“Bree mentioned she was dehydrated, malnourished, infested with fleas, and had intestinal parasites.”

“If I hadn’t taken her to the vet, she probably would’ve died.”

With unwavering determination, Bree took on the responsibility of bottle-feeding Cloe, a kitten she found, around the clock, ensuring her swift recovery.

The initial days proved to be the most difficult, characterized by a lack of sleep. We provided assistance to Cloe in her eating endeavors, considering her disinterest in food, while prioritizing her warmth.

“It took her four days to feel energized enough to give playing a try.”

Without fail, they diligently bottle-fed her every 3-4 hours for a duration of almost a month. From the beginning, they intended to find her home once she was old enough, but regrettably, that aspiration remained unrealized.

“Cloe was already at home… I loved this little girl so much. Although she was still too skinny, I made sure to feed her well.”Bree said.

One-month-old Cloe weighed 10 oz, remaining tiny but displaying a ravenous appetite and increasing playfulness and curiosity.

When she was only seven weeks old, she bravely explored every part of the apartment and started offering her “help” in the kitchen.

Bree told Embora Cats that her cat loves to cuddle and specifically enjoys lying on her feet.

Cloe exhibits a strong preference for companionship, persistently shadowing her human mom and avoiding solitude.

A few months later, a new cat named Crowley became part of the family.

When I got back from work, I saw that Cloe was restless, so I thought she might like to have a friend. This friend is two weeks younger than her.

After a few days of being unfriendly, Cloe decided to cuddle up with her new friend, and that’s how their special relationship began.

“They love each other so much now!”

The two buddies do everything together.

They take quick naps, have meals, and sit by the window, observing the day.

Bree never thought about having a cat until she met Cloe. Now, she has two adorable feline friends that she loves dearly.

It’s been a year since Cloe was found in the driveway, and I truly believe she came to me exactly when I needed her, saving me in the process.
